From October 2011 through April 2012, the international spotlight shines on Los Angeles as more than 60 Southern California cultural institutions come together to present Pacific Standard Time, a festival of exhibitions and performances highlighting Southern California's contribution to American postwar art and design.
An initiative of the Getty with arts institutions across the Southland, Pacific Standard Time celebrates the birth of the LA art scene and the iconic artists, who shaped many of today's most vital trends nationally and internationally.
To accompany the exhibitions, LA INC. has developed special hotel packages at various price-points and geographic locations. Guests who book the packages will receive an exclusive museum pass that will grant free, VIP admission for two to 18 leading Los Angeles museums participating in Pacific Standard Time, more than a $250 value. Visitors can enjoy special Pacific Standard Time packages at nearly 20 participating hotels throughout the city. (Visitors must show their LA hotel key card and the VIP museum pass to gain access.)
Participating museums include The Autry National Center, California African American Museum, Craft and Folk Art Museum, the Getty Center, the Getty Villa, Hammer Museum, Japanese American National Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), Museum of Contemporary Art, Natural History Museum, Norton Simon Museum, Museum of Latin American Art, Pacific Asia Museum, Pasadena Museum of California Art, Santa Monica Museum of Art, Skirball Cultural Center, UCLA Fowler Museum and USC Fisher Museum of Art.
