Over 70 tons of beads are thrown each year to well over 100,000 smiling spectators.
This year the Krewe of Carnivale en Rio will present it's theme "The Spell of Rio" with all the magic and merriment Mardi Gras has to offer. The Rio parade will roll through Lafayette, Louisiana on Saturday February 11 at 6:30pm.
This "road-trip worthy" parade is very family-friendly and well attended by visitors across Louisiana and surrounding states. Be sure to bring an empty tote – kids of all ages will definitely head home with more stuffed animals, toys and beads than they might expect.
