Located just 25 miles from Reno, the town boasts hand-crafted boutique holiday shopping at local merchants, the Parade of Lights and a country Christmas concert.
Create holiday memories aboard the Virginia & Truckee Railroad Candy Cane Express Trains on November 29-30 and December 7-8, 14-15. There are two departures daily, noon and 2pm. Bundle up and gather along C Street for Virginia City’s only evening parade and watch as the town lights up with Christmas cheer.
Bring your cowboy boots and Santa hat to the boot-stomping Christmas in the Sierra concert at Piper's Opera House with David John & The Comstock Cowboys on December 7 at 8pm. Buy your tickets in advance online. Price: $25.
