Park City may be known as one of the Utah homes every January of Robert Redford’s Sundance Film Festival (this year from January 21 to 31) but it is also one of the most unique mountain resort destinations in the United States.Host to a third of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games events in Utah, Park City charmed the world with its magnificent snow and world-class skiing and snowboarding, lodging and dining facilities.
Located in the heart of the Wasatch Mountains, 35 minutes east of the Salt Lake City International Airport via a six-lane interstate highway (I-80), Park City proper measures two miles from end to end. Park City operates a FREE area-wide bus service between Deer Valley Resort, Main Street Transit Center, Park City Mountain Resort and The Canyons Resort.
Sundance Film Festival is the premier showcase for US and international independent film. The Festival is a core program of Sundance Institute, a non-profit cultural organization founded by Robert Redford in 1981. It presents dramatic and documentary feature-length films in nine distinct categories and approximately 80 short films each year. All awards will be announced the evening of January 30 at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival Awards Ceremony, to be hosted by David Hyde Pierce at the Park City Racquet Club.
