Now in its 9th year in Great Falls, Montana, Bluegrass on the Bay is a magical outdoor event right on the Missouri river. This year’s event is on July 15 at Odd Fellows Park in Great Falls.
A fundraiser for Great Falls’ History Museum, Bluegrass on the Bay attracts great Bluegrass music talent from all over the US as well as local talent. Each year there are new bands to experience. This year’s headliner is Town Mountain from North Carolina. The 23 String Band from Kentucky will be paying homage to the deep roots of American traditional music, while pushing forward with genre-bending, hard-driving originals and distinctive arrangements.
There are food and beverage vendors at the concert site as well as great raffle items.
Gates open at 5pm. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the gate. Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. Tickets are available at both Albertsons stores, and at The History Museum, 422 2nd St. South, Great Falls.
Concertgoers are invited to bring their own folding chairs or blankets for the outdoor event. Pets and coolers are not allowed.
The History Museum is dedicated to preserving and promoting the heritage of this area. In the previous eight Bluegrass on the Bay events, more than 8,000 people have attended and over $100,000 has been raised for The History Museum.
