For the 12th consecutive year D-Day Ohio, Inc. will invade the quiet lakeside town of Conneaut on August 19 and 20 and bring together historians and patriots from across the United States and Canada to help relive June 6, 1944 – the largest combined amphibious and airborne landing in history.
Come and experience living history displays on the shores of Lake Erie in Conneaut, Ohio at Conneaut Township Park and learn about the planning, tools, preparations, and sacrifices made by those who stormed the beaches of Normandy. Visit living history encampments, battle reenactments, lectures, displays, and kids learning zone. Watch as over 400 reenactors occupy pre-invasion encampments and engage in 3 unique battles.
Mark your calendars for the 3rd annual Wine & Walleye Festival held in the historic Ashtabula Harbor from August 26 to 28. The festival on Historical Bridge Street includes local wines, shopping, live music, walleye & perch meals, a fishing tournament, a lighted boat parade, a classic car parade, and a 5K run. Try to fit in more fun in a weekend than that!
The Geneva Grape Jamboree on September 24 and 25 in Geneva is
a celebration of the harvesting of grapes. Taste freshly squeezed grape juice. All entertainment, including grape stomping, is free. The art show, craft fair, concession booths, farmer's market, antiques, ethnic foods, amusement rides, makes for a jam-packed weekend for the entire family.
