Still Summertime on Oregon Coast

It may already be September but summer is still in full swing on The People's Coast, Oregon.
This month you'll find triathlons and surfing competitions; traditional salmon bakes and classic car shows; seafood cook-offs and a super hero-themed pride festival. There are Hispanic heritage celebrations and a month-long 75th Birthday Bash for the Yaquina Bay Bridge. So there's still plenty of time to get out and enjoy the sunny days of summer.
Take a walk on the wild side in Newport during this month'’s Wild Seafood Weekend where you can hobnob with local fishermen, purchase fresh seafood right on the dock, enjoy a harbor cruise and experience a wild seafood cook-off and brunch.
The month-long, community-wide birthday bash for the Yaquina Bay Bridge 75th Celebration includes a 1930’s style community picnic, live music, photo and coloring contests, face painting, walking tours and a Rogue Ales bottle release party. You can also gather with friends and family in Newport for The Gathering, the annual Longboard surfing competition, a celebration of “sun, suds and surf.”
There’s the 56th Annual Depoe Bay Salmon Bake, loads of local color at the 65th Bandon Cranberry Festival and community barbecue in Bandon, a Cruzin’ for Crab festival with classic car show in Waldport and a Giant Kite Show in Lincoln City if you’re looking for even more ways to lift your spirits.
In fact, this month  Lincoln City is the place to be for a truly diverse range of activities. There’s the annual Sprint Triathlon competition, the Celebration of Honor for the nation’s heroes in the armed forces, the super hero-themed Irish Pride Festival, the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, the Surf City Classic Car Show, a silent kite auction, the Circus Model Building Annual Convention and a heaping helping of hands-on cooking courses, from the Culinary Center at Lincoln City.
